This is a work by the artist Santiago Lourido, in collaboration with Materas Contraseña.

Everything originates at the heart of the world, where the origin of the universe is understood as a tapestry of forces manifested in every shape, every existing being.

This work is inspired by the mochilas crafted by the KOGUI indigenous community in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia.

These original communities have preserved the law of the origin: they maintain the tapestry that protects and makes life possible. The first work is based on the

 “GAMA” mochila, woven in fique and used on a daily basis by the KOGUIS.

It is the first work out of three to be carried out. Each one of them is comprised by 99 unique and limited pieces.

It is a work in their honor, one where we seek to mold the origin’s whisper with mud.
